Wafer Level Packaging with Screen Printable Polymers

Screen and stencil printing technology has been used for a number of years for printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing and surface mount component assembly of PCBs. The green-colored solder mask, numbering and white component outlines found on many inexpensive PCBs is an epoxy material applied using a screen printing process. Prior to placing surface-mount components on a circuit board, solder paste is normally applied over the copper pads using a stencil printing method. These processes are similar to ancient silk-screening methods used for imaging patterns directly onto paper and textile products. Modern screens comprise of an interwoven mesh of thin stainless steel wire that supports a photo-imaged emulsion layer. Openings within the emulsion layer enable a variety of inks and epoxy pastes to be squeezed through and transferred onto a flat surface to reproduce the pattern imaged within the emulsion layer. Stencil printing is fairly similar in concept, except that the wire mesh is substituted with a thin metal or polymer foil through which a pattern of apertures have been cut, etched or plated. Wafer fabrication has long been ruled by concern for particulate control so as to...

How Alex Roy Learned To Stop Worrying And Buy A Tesla

“Are you out of your f***ing mind?” said journalist Ed Niedermeyer, whose name is allegedly painted above the drain of the replica Duchamp hidden in Elon Musk’s private bathroom at Tesla’s Fremont factory. “You’ve done more than a hundred about why people shouldn’t. I’ve done more than a hundred about why people should.” “I hope you didn’t tell them in advance,” Ed said over two clicks of a Bic. “You should go in as a civilian.” The truth was that I’d been talking to Tesla higher ups for months, alternatively promising to buy new and threatening to buy used. They’d never offered anything other than best wishes, which made conceding Ed’s point a whole lot easier. However much a dark part of me hoped for a discount and a specially prepped car, I’d have to order one like every other shlub. But calling in manufacturer favors is what other people do. You know them; those auto “journalists” with nary an unkind word for a car until its model cycle is over. Sadly, the truth was that even I—who had more Tesla miles than most owners still alive—had been infected with FU...

iMaxAlarm, LLC, a Los Angeles based personal safety and security alarm company, has engineered a new collection of personal security alarms to act as a safeguard and deterrent from potential harm LOS ANGELES, Aug. 18, 2017 /PRNewswire/ – iMaxAlarm, LLC, a Los Angeles based personal safety and security alarm company, has engineered a new collection of personal security alarms to act as a safeguard and deterrent from potential harm. Inspired by the shape of an average key fob, the iMaxAlarm personal alarm system emits an ear piercing 130dB siren which will not only startle the most threatening potential aggressor, but will also alert others to an immediate need for help. Simply pull the key from the top of the device and it will immediately emit a deafening noise which will help deter a potential attack, as well as draw the attention of nearby bystanders to the pending emergency. The SOS Alert device comes ready to use, right out of the box, and has a continuous run time of 30 minutes. The alarm can be easily turned off by re-inserting the key into the top of the device, and both a carabiner and lanyard are included in the packaging for easy attachment. iMaxAlarm strongly be...

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has approved the commencement of 2019 sale and distribution of fertiliser

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has approved the commencement of 2019 sale and distribution of fertiliser to farmers at the subsidized rate of N,4000 per bag. Ortom, while declaring the sale and distribution open at the State Fertilizer Blending Plants on Friday in Makurdi, said the aim was to boost agricultural production, reduce poverty and create jobs in the state. The governor, represented by his deputy, Benson Abounu, directed that one bag of 50kg of fertiliser irrespective of brand be sold to farmers at N4, 000, while a litre of Liquid Organic Fertilizer shall be sold to farmers at the subsidised rate of N2, 000 and a litre of Plant Health Promoter be sold at the subsidized rate of N3, 500.00. He explained that over 40 per cent cost on all brands of fertilizer would be borne by the state government to make the products affordable to farmers. “Our state is blessed with a lot of agricultural potentials and government is poised to offer maximum support to harness these potentials to fast-track economic and social development of our people. The re-election of our administration therefore is another opportunity to aggressively pursue the attainment of these objectives.” “A...

Dell’s Latitude 5424 Rugged is a 14-inch laptop that thrives in harsh environments, though perhaps inevitably, it’s overshadowed by its nearly invulnerable sibling, the 7424 Rugged Extreme. Shop for an extra-sturdy laptop, and you’ll encounter vague, overlapping terms like fully rugged, semi-rugged, and business-rugged. Officially, Dell refers to the Latitude 5424 Rugged (starts at $1,429; $3,301 as tested) as semi-rugged, meaning it’s not as indestructible as the flagship Latitude 7424 Rugged Extreme—instead of a six-foot drop when closed, for example, it’s rated to survive a three-foot fall. That still makes it suitable for carrying into the field and other environments where a civilian laptop might crack, though my Core i5 test unit’s performance and battery life trailed that of the more costly Core i7 Extreme. On the other hand, the Latitude 7424′s touchpad was frustratingly unresponsive. The 5424′s worked fine. At a glance, the Latitude 5424 Rugged could be mistaken for its stronger sibling—both are 14-inch laptops with matte-black magnesium-alloy frames, protective doors covering their ports, and full-width carrying handles o...

Mob Boss James ‘Whitey’ Bulger Beaten to Death With ‘Lock-in-a-Sock’

The inmates who brutally murdered mob boss James “Whitey” Bulger moved out of the view of surveillance cameras before pummeling him to death using a padlock stuffed inside a sock until he was “unrecognizable,” law-enforcement officials have revealed. However, cameras caught at least two inmates rolling Bulger, 89, who was in a wheelchair, into the corner where he was beaten to death. Bulger’s eyes were dislodged from his head although it’s not known if his attackers gouged them out or if they were knocked out of his skull by the beating. “They apparently tuned him up to the point where he was unrecognizable,” said one anonymous law-enforcement official said to be familiar with the details. One suspect, Fotios “Freddy” Geas, is a Mafia hitman said to hate informers like Bulger. An investigation is underway into how the murder was allowed to happen.
